Sam is at the water cooler talking to Diane.

SAM
Did you have a good weekend?

DIANE
Yeah, but the only thing that
bugged me about it was all the
stupid coverage over Kim
Kardashian’s stupid wedding. God
can those girl get anymore
annoying.

SAM
Who?

DIANE
The Kardashians?

SAM
Are they on TV? ‘Cause I don’t have
a TV. Is she a chef?

DIANE
Well, it’s probably good that you
don’t know them. They are a family
famous for having a lot of money
but they do nothing. I mean
literally nothing.

SAM
They sound awful.

DIANE
Yeah, so no TV, you must read a
lot. What is your favorite book?
Harry Potter? Twilight? Or do you
go for more intelligent reading
like Dan Brown.

SAM
Sorry, I don’t know what those
things are. Are they names of
books?

DIANE
Ok, is it Prank Pa-Tuesday? Cause I
didn’t get the e-mail.

SAM
No, I don’t usually read. I have a
little bit of dyslexia and reading
hurts my eyes and brain. My mom
told me if it hurts don’t do it.
But don’t tell the boss, I don’t
want him to know that I can’t spell
“their”.

DIANE
Yeah. But, you must see book covers
on the subway and stuff.

SAM
I take cabs, everywhere, the subway
makes me feel claustrophobic.

DIANE
Ok, and I am assuming that you
don’t have a computer, I-phone, Ipad,
twitter, facebook, or goggle plus.

SAM
Well, I can’t afford a computer,
and I don’t know what any of those
other things are.

DIANE
Oh my God, how can you live like
that. Information changes every
second now a days and you are so
detached you might as well go live
in on a farm at the tip of France.
Are you even qualified to work
here?

SAM
Of course I am, I’m an assistant, I
get coffee, file paper, and make
sure everything runs smoothly, I
don’t need to know much.

DIANE
Yeah, but there are certain things
that you just need to know.

SAM
Like what?

DIANE
Ok. Sam, who is the president?

SAM
Oh, I know this. It’s on the tip of
my tongue, I remembered seeing his
face on a campaign poster a couple
of years ago. I think it starts
with a B. Barry Osama?

DIANE
Yeah. Ok. Don’t talk to me again.

SAM
But, I thought we were gonna make
homemade pistachio jam together
this weekend.
