EXT. A BEACH ON MAUI

A couple, Kourtney and Jim, are getting their tan on.

COURTNEY
Oh this is nice.

JIM
So relaxing.

COURTNEY
Do you think we should call him?

JIM
Yeah, I think it’s a good idea. He’s probably missing us.

COURTNEY
Okay.

Jim takes out a pretend phone, dials and starts talking to their cat Bexer.

JIM
Hi Bexer! How are you?

Jim does the voice of Bexer, which sounds like Steve Urkel mixed with Larry King.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
What do you want dad.

JIM
Just wanted to see how you’re doing.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
I’m watching TV dad, leave me alone.

JIM
Oh Bexer..... Are you missing us?

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
Leave me alone.

Kourtney takes the pretend phone and starts talking to Bexer. Jim is still doing his voice, so they are really just talking to each other.

KOURTNEY
Did Ronald feed you?

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER.
Yes, mom!

KOURTNEY
Okay, do you want us to pick you up something?

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
X-box.

KOURTNEY
You’re not getting an X-box.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
I want an X-box.

KOURTNEY
No.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
Yes.

KOURTNEY
Well maybe we can bring you back some seashells.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
No.

KOURTNEY
Or maybe we can bring you back a shirt that says “Meowy”.

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
Mom!

KOURTNEY
Okay! I love you.

JIM
I love you!

JIM AS THE VOICE OF BEXER
Guys, I love you too....now leave me alone.

The couple beside them on the beach has heard the whole conversation and they both look traumatized.

JIM
What? Don’t you pretend to talk to your cat on the phone when you're on vacation!

The couple go back to reading and relaxing.

JIM
Do you think we should call him again?
