EXT.
A street on a beautiful Fall day.
MARIE
I love this time of year, the weather is shifting, the holidays are getting closer. It’s lovely.
PATRICK
Yeah, let’s go explore this magical seasonal change.
MARIE
First stop! Starbucks!
They enter Starbucks and each order a pumpkin spice latte.
PATRICK
It’s not fall unless you can smell the synthetic odor of pre-processed syrup mixed with day old milk.
MARIE
You’re right, nothing says nature quit like it.
PATRICK
You said it, why don’t we hit the next spot on our celebratory seasonal walk.
MARIE
BEER TOWN!!
They walk into the closest liquor store and get free samples of the featured pumpkin ale.
PATRICK
You know, with every gulp of this completely diluted, overly flavored, water-like beer, I can actually hear the animals hibernating.
MARIE
I know right, I can almost taste the animals making way for winter.
Patrick rolls his eyes.
MARIE (CONT’D)
The bubbles remind me of a babbling broke that will soon become ice.
PATRICK
We could actually go down to the water and take in the change of season there.
MARIE
And miss our last stop, what kind of nature trip do you think this is?
PATRICK
I guess you’re right.
They cheers the pumpkin spiced latter cups and the beer samplers.
MARIE AND PATRICK
To Fall!
Marie and Patrick venture into a Dunkin Donuts.
PATRICK
I will have one Apple Fried Fat Fat Fritter.
MARIE
And I will get two.
They sit down, inside, and continue to enjoy Fall by bitting into their Apple Fried Fat Fat Fritters.
MARIE (CONT’D)
This gooey apple middle makes me realize how lucky we are to live in a place that has seasons.
PATRICK
Yeah, it’s really important to cherish the environment.
MARIE
That’s what we’re celebrating dumb, dumb!
PATRICK
Yeah?
MARIE
Well here’s to next year.
They cheers with their lattes, beers and fritters. They exit Dunkin Donuts.
PATRICK
Do you want to walk off some of this stuff and go through Central Park and look at the leaves?
MARIES
Nah, I want to binge watch “House of Cards”.
PATRICK
To Fall..........
Outside they throw their styrofoam cups, plastic beer cups and paper fritter bags on the ground and walk off.
End.
